What is the Rainbow?Rainbow is a month long traveller gathering based on communal living in nature. It takes place at over 100 venues in the world each year. Parvati Valley in Himachal, India was the site of the World Rainbow gathering 1999. Ever since, we have our own Rainbow gathering at the same spot each year. Many regulars journey to India from all over the world to attend the Rainbow since 1999, keeping the peaceful sanctity traditions of Rainbow alive. How it works The month of Rainbow is a nature friendly venture where participants work together to survive, learn, harmonise with nature and be merry. Different people carry out different tasks based on their ability. Some chop or collect wood, while others make a fire and some cook for the group. Is there an admission fee? Rainbow is a money free venture. However, traditionally, the trekkers who walk up to the gathering carry an offering of chocolates, or some food as a gesture of good faith. This is completely optional. Where Rainbow takes place at Parvati Valley
Accommodation Some travellers come with tents and sleeping bags, while others camp in the many small, habitable caves on the mountain. And last of all: My experience
