AUGUST - OCTOBER Teej (JAIPUR): Aug; Welcomes the arrival of much anticipated monsoon. Dussehra Mela (KOTA): Oct; Over 22 m tall Ravan is stuffed with fireworks and set alight at a huge maidaan (field), as a metaphor to the victory of Ram over Ravan. Marwar Festival (JODHPUR/OSIYAN): Starting at Jodhpur & ending at Osiyan, this festival is a celebration of Rajasthan’s heroes through music and dancing. NOVEMBER – DECEMBER Pushkar Mela (Camel Fair) (PUSHKAR): Nov; An enormous gathering of the last camels in India, and of horses and cattle, tourists, traders. Kolayat Mela (KOLAYAT): Nov; A festival of saints, sadhus, babas and sages. Dates coincide with Pushkar Mela. Winter Festival (MT ABU): Dec; A folk festival with music and dance.
