Spring also is the season for the blossoming of tulips in Kashmir. Beds of rolling fields of the tulip flower adorn Kashmir during the first weeks of April.

The first fortnight of April is the time of Tulip Festival in Srinagar, which hosts Asia's biggest tulip orchard. To honour the outstanding blossom of over a hundred thousand buds, the tulip festival features cultural and folk song performances, along with a fair selling local handicrafts and traditional Kashmiri food.
